Diverse Activities
Early Literacy
At Taiyo we are passionate about fostering literacy skills in children. We build these skills by offering: easy access to books, public library field-trips, time in our book corner, letter and word exploration, alphabet recognition activities, and dual language experiences.
Numeracy
By intertwining numeracy into daily language and learning, children are provided with opportunities to develop their numbers sense. Counting, sorting, building, and interactive/collaborative games allow children to gain additional numeracy skills in a fun and engaging way.
Inquiry
From outdoor walks to open-ended play, our children have the ability to ask questions and explore answers. Our community-based learning experiences let children grow their understanding of the world around them. In addition, the safe and caring learning environment established at Taiyo allows children to feel comfortable to try new things.
STEAM
STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and math. It is a relatively new development in the education field and the success of STEAM is often linked to the hands-on nature of tasks. Through a variety of hands-on manipulatives, thoughtful program planning and age-appropriate resources, Taiyo supports creation and innovation.
