My name is Katharina Thiessen, I am a level 1 Early Childhood Educator. I am from Belize in Central America, and I have lived in Linden for eight years with my family. I have three younger brothers and just love them with all of my heart. My passion for teaching began when I started work experience in Acme School with the elementary and did babysitting for other families. I graduated high school and that is what I have done so far. I would love to go to NorQuest College in Edmonton, Alberta and get my Early Learning and Childcare Certificate. I have my Level 1 Early Childcare Education certificate and plan to pursue my level 2 and 3 in the near future. Taiyo is my first and only place I have worked in childcare, and I am so thankful that I get to work here.

I love music, dancing and reading. I also love to cook food for my family and bake pies. My family and I love to play games and go shopping together. We also love to go on a big trip every year to BC to visit with family.

I love being with children because they keep my mind and body alive. Working with children is fun and it provides me with insight on how children like to play and have fun. Each day is unpredictable because children have a wonderful imagination and are always creative. Watching children dance, sing and just have fun all day is something that is just wonderful to watch. I can’t wait to see all of the children grow and also to continue growing with the staff at Taiyo.
