Pay: From $15-16 an hour (plus wage top up)
Job type: Full-time, Maternity Leave Position (with potential of position extension)
Shift & schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hour shift with 30 minute break 

Taiyo Early Childhood Education Centre is looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and play-focused Early Childcare Professionals to  work in our childcare centre in Acme, Alberta. Taiyo Early Childhood Education Centre is located approximately 1 hour  northeast of Calgary, and we are opening to meet the high demand for childcare in Acme and its surrounding communities. Our focus is learning through play with literacy, numeracy and STEAM based experiences. We are actively seeking a Early Childhood Educator with a Level 1, 2 or 3. 
 

Maternity Leave Position: June 2026 to December 2027, with the potential of position extension.

Duties:

- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 12 months to 6 years

- Create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and growth

- Provide individualized attention and support to meet the needs of each child

- Collaborate with other Educators to create a cohesive and engaging activities

- Monitor and assess children's progress, documenting observations and maintaining records

- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's development and progress

- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment

- Supervise group activities and ensure the health, safety, and development of children

- Direct and discipline children in a consistent manner that maintains the child’s self esteem

-Take part in daily cleaning of facilities and weekly responsibilities of cleaning toys, laundry, mats and cubbies

- Report injuries on the accident report form. Keep guardians informed of any injuries sustained by their child throughout the day

- Knowledge of licensing regulations

- Participate in staff meetings and professional development training program

- Maintain First Aid Certification

Qualifications:

- Early Childhood Education Certification Level 1, 2 or 3

- Must be 18 years or older to be eligible for hire under requirements of the Alberta Early Learning and Childcare Regulations

- Previous experience working with children aged 12 months to six years

- First Aid and CPR Certification

- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check

- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desired

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

- Ability to effectively educate and engage young children in learning activities

- Excellent time management and organizational skills
